The CEPEA/ESALQ cotton Index, with payment in 8 days, remained stable (+0.1 per cent) between February 28 and March 29, closing at 2.9346 BRL per pound on March 29. Bangladesh is growing fast to be a hub of organic textile manufacturing amid a rise in demand from international apparel retailers, said a statement of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), an international benchmark.
The number of globally recognized textile factories, which use organic raw materials, rose 29 percent last year in bangladesh, with the growth rate being highest globally, said Sumit Gupta, GOTS representative for India and Bangladesh, said in a recent statement.
