The export of textile and clothing continued with its rising trend in November for the third consecutive month due to a slight surge in demand from key markets of Europe and United States, suggested data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released on Thursday.
It posted a hefty growth of 23.54 per cent in November from a year ago. The growth in export was 10.54 per cent in October, and 12.91 per cent in September.

The global cotton surplus will be 1.8 percent smaller than forecast in November because of reduced output in the U.S. and demand from India and Brazil, said Cotlook Ltd., the publisher of a benchmark price index.
Production in the year that began Aug. 1 will exceed consumption by 3.617 million metric tons, down from the 3.683 million predicted last month and the year-earlier surplus of a revised 5.488 million, Birkenhead, U.K.-based Cotlook said today in a statement.

Cotton yarn prices jumped 14 per cent in two weeks on a sudden spurt in demand from both the domestic as well as international markets.

The Government of Bangladesh has taken steps for resumption of construction work by next month for the upcoming 'garment village' in Munshiganj, according to a Financial Express report.
The Government envisages relocation of about 1,000 apparel units to the garment village by January 2014.
