  • London Fashion Week is in full swing and the British Fashion Council has published updating figures showing substantial growth in the UK fashion industry over the past five years. At a press conference to open LFW’s Autumn/Winter 2014 showcase, the BFC claimed that the fashion industry’s contribution to the UK stands at 26 billion pounds, up from 21 billion pounds in 2009. Announced by Natalie Massenet, chairman of the British Fashion Council, this increase is a staggering 21 percent in nomin

  • New York City is in the midst of one of the worst winters I can remember, and all I want is something super warm and soft to keep me toasty. Coming off of New York Fashion Week (having spent the last eight days trudging through the snow in single-digit temperatures), I’ve been on the hunt to find the warmest layers that still look pulled-together. As a child I grew up trying on my parents’ shearling coats and not wanting to take them off. But as much as I loved them, they definitely screamed
  • Stuart Vevers, former Mulberry and Loewe designer, has unveiled his debut Coach ready-to-wear collection for Autumn/Winter 2014 during New York Fashion Week. The designer, who was appointed creative director last year to replace Reed Krakoff, was brought in to push forward with Coach’s “brand transformation” and to lead all “creative aspects” of the Coach brand from women’s and men’s design to brand imagery and store environments. Vevers has only been in his executive creative director rol
  • Jason Wu debuted his first collection for Hugo Boss during New York fashion week. Boss Womenswear, the professional women's wardrobe, was given a fresh eye with Wu's creative direction, showing a feminine collection of dresses and separates that were as fashionable as they were boardroom friendly. Cinched waists, neat tailoring and light layering came in Boss' staple hue of grey. Dresses came in sheathed panels and layers and were feather light. Blazers and outerwear had strong cuts, but n
  • New York Fashion Week always closes with the Marc Jacobs show, however this season his collection was particularly poignant as it was his first since departing the house of Louis Vuitton last year. In a departure from his SS14 collection, which was decorative to say the least, Jacobs opted for a clean palette in soft neutrals and pastels, elongated the silhouette and accentuated with scoop and v-necks. There was a modern 60s aesthetic, which saw linear curves and patterns exposed on tunics

  • Well, it was kind off inevitable. After seasons of oversize sweaters, roomy sweatshirts, and a cocoon coats at Fashion Week, the sleek moto-jacket was bound to get the boyfriend treatment—which, I for one, am pretty pleased about. First of all, it's really hard to jam a chunky, boxy sweater into a slim-fit leather jacket (the discomfort, the unsightly bulging!). Plus, this updated louche silhouette totally makes sense for a coat traditionally associated with rebellious, rocker types anyway. So y
  • The New York Fashion Week shows are finally winding down, which means it's time to suss out the trends we've seen thus far. Something I'm definitely excited to try? This new way to style cuff bracelets or bangles. Spotted at Steven Alan (who decided to launch jewelry for his 20th anniversary) and Ralph Lauren, both designers layered the jewelry over the sleeves of thin knit sweaters rather than under or at the end of them. Cool and different, huh? Source: Glamour.
  • Once again, Copenhagen – Scandinavia’s top fashion centre – attracted a host of fashion professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world.
